The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying Quotes. Sogyal Rinpoche

“We do not know where death awaits us: so let us wait for it everywhere. To practice death is to practice freedom. A man who has learned how to die has unlearned how to be a slave. MONTAIGNE”

“The nature of everything is illusory and ephemeral, Those with dualistic perception regard suffering as happiness, Like they who lick the honey from a razor’s edge. How pitiful they who cling strongly to concrete reality: Turn your attention within, my heart friends".

“There is only one law in the universe that never changes-- that all things change, and that all things are impermanent.”

“We are acting as if we were the last generation on the planet. Without a radical change in heart, in mind, in vision, the earth will end up like Venus, charred and dead.”

“We may idealize freedom, but when it comes to our habits, we are completely enslaved.”

“A human being is part of a whole, called by us the “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in”.

“Because the dying also are unable to help themselves, we should relieve them of discomfort and anxiety, and assist them, as far as we can, to die with composure.”

“We need to make a very clear distinction between what is in our ego’s self-interest and what is in our ultimate interest; it is from mistaking one for the other that all our suffering comes.”

“Our society promotes cleverness instead of wisdom, and celebrates the most superficial, harsh, and least useful aspects of our intelligence.”

“learning to live is learning to let go”

"Dragged along by the chaos of every moment, are we victims of the capriciousness of our minds".

Plants and Animals don’t have a Voice, let Us be Theirs

Plants and Animals don’t have a Voice, let Us be Theirs

43 years ago, my parents owned a public swimming pool. In the summer season, there was a lifeguard that I remember fondly. He was a handsome, kind and idealistic young man, always with a pipe in the corner of his mouth. He studied to be a priest and wanted to visit the Amazon someday. He could talk about it passionately for hours. He was fond of saying that the Amazon region was “an adventure, an immense place, nearly twice as big as Europe.” He warned: “These regions are the lungs of our world, along with other tropical rain forests.”

Our whole family was present at his ordination, but after that we lost contact with him. It later turned out that he had fallen in love with my mother, a love that was unrequited. My mother was a particularly beautiful and strong woman, mother of six young children, and she had to tell him that he should finish his studies, and that there could be no future between them. Discouraged and severely depressed, he left for the Amazon as originally intended.

From:  www.papergenocide.org

We are Heading Down a Dangerous Path

We are Heading Down a Dangerous Path

What President Trump stands for is not "America First", but unbridled capitalism, growing inequality, increasing racism, white supremacy, hatred of women, protectionism and constant provocation. He is purposely creating a crisis, as Trump's administration thrives by chaos. One man's loss is, after all, another man's gain.

The Trump Family is characterized by lawlessness, megalomania, and a general sense of superiority over common rules and laws. Trump takes advantage of his presidency in all sorts of ways. Trump will use orchestrated chaos to push through even more radical items on his agenda, such as: dismantling the rule of law, the welfare state, social services and the free press.

Many Leaders Make Hate Acceptable

                     Many Leaders Make Hate Acceptable

Hate is spreading like an oil stain over the Earth. Hate is even further encouraged by populists who purport to speak in the name of the people. Populist politicians try to obtain the support of the electorate by all means without worrying about the viability of their proposals. They invariably rage against the 'elite'.

Ever since Trump took office, the number of reports of racist violence, murder and death in the US has increased exponentially. There is a "rising tide of violent crime", according to figures from the FBI, with Las Vegas and Charlottesville as recent examples. More and more people feel that their radical ideas are legitimized by Trump.

TO ALL NEW ARRIVALS, WE LOVE YOU.(Faithless 2006) older and customized article

TO ALL NEW ARRIVALS, WE LOVE YOU. (Faithless 2006)

In our world, Malaria kills a child every 30 seconds. 11 Million children die every year of malnutrition. In our world, 15 Million children have been orphaned by AIDS. 30,000 children die of preventable causes every day.

In our world, 2 million children are working in the sex trade this moment. 1.1 Billion people in the world, earn less than a dollar a day. (These are old figures 2006)

If there's a God, be aware, I'm a man newly made. My son lies here, and only of him, am I afraid. As I gaze into that face, I perceive that which is true. I created him, and we created you... in his image. And I never knew love like this.

Similarities and Commonalities (Older article 19-11-2016)

                          Similarities and Commonalities

There is so much similarity and commonality among people, voters, left, right, social, center, liberal, or not politically interested. Almost everyone has had enough of the establishment, of the selfishness of greed, of the failure of the elite. The degradation of society, spiritual values and decency.

Similarities: Hard work, work longer, without getting anywhere. The gap between rich and poor is widening. Unequal opportunities, income inequality, discouragement. Mutual envy. The angry voter does not benefit, while the top  benefits extreme. Economics is always under pressure, the middle class is under pressure, changes in the labor market, flexible work, wage developments, job losses. Growing underclass. Difference between rich and poor, (in) equality, freedom. (Un) equal opportunities for all.

Walking the Holy Road

Walking the Holy Road

GRANDFATHER,

Look our fragility.

We know that in whole creation
Only humanity
Has lost The Holy Road .

We know we are the ones
who are divided
And we are the ones
That must come together again
To walk the Holy Road.

GRANDFATHER,

You who are holy
Teach us love, compassion, self-honor,
That we may heal the earth
And each other.
Ojibway - prayer

De Heilige Weg bewandelen

GROOTVADER,
Zie onze gebrokenheid aan.

Wij weten dat in heel de schepping
Alleen de mensheid
Van de Heilige Weg is afgedwaald.

Wij weten dat wij degenen zijn
Die verdeeld zijn
En dat wij degenen zijn
Die weer samen moeten komen
Om de Heilige Weg te bewandelen.

GROOTVADER,
U die heilig bent,
Leer ons liefde, mededogen, eergevoel,
Opdat wij de aarde mogen genezen
En elkaar.
Ojibway - gebed

All are together

The spirit of separation, the spirit of domination, these have led to the genocide of indigenous peoples throughout the world: the Inquisition, the Nazi Holocaust in Europe, the destruction of countries, cultures and peoples in Asia and the invention of
weaponry that all peoples on earth can destroy more than twenty times. (Now, many times more destruction), The Tsalagi doctrine considers such suffering unnecessary. It is the consequence of the idea that one would be better or more important than the other. In reality, in the circle of proper relationship there is no higher or lower, no inside or outside all in the holy circle. Dhyani Ywahoo

Dhyani  Ywahoo

Our unique Planet Earth.

                                        Our unique Planet Earth

We’ve all done it at one point: look up at the stars and wonder about the meaning of it all. Is the universe infinite? Is there life on other planets? Is someone looking back at us, right now, somewhere out there in the inconceivable vastness of space? How small, how fragile must the world seem to him -,- Little more than a tiny speck of light.

It makes you realize how precious our planet is, this dust ball, this oasis in -the- vast barren -space-. Isn’t it wonderful that life exists on this insignificant rock, in -the- dark and empty void?

Onze unieke Planeet Aarde.

                                        Onze unieke Planeet Aarde.

Corruption

The corruption of the best things gives rise to the worst. (David Hume)

The duty of youth is to challenge corruption.(Kurt Cobain)

If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already. (Bob Marley)

Democratic socialism means that we must reform a political system that is corrupt, that we must create an economy that works for all, not just the very wealthy. (Bernie Sanders)

Advance, and never halt, for advancing is perfection. Advance and do not fear the thorns in the path, for they draw only corrupted blood. (Khalil Gibran)

I don't believe newspaper reporters can substitute for a district attorney, but a newspaper has a very valid investigative role. Newspaper reports on corruption in government, racketeering and organized crime conditions can be very helpful to your communities and the whole country. (Robert Kennedy)

Power corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. (Lord Acton)

But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought. (George Orwell)

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently. (Friedrich Nietzsche)

Politics is the most corrupt profession on Earth, no matter where you are. (Charles Dance)

When somebody steals from the bank, he go to the prison. When a bank employee steals from a customer, with wrong performances and false promises, he gets a bonus.

          NEW DEMOCRACY

SINCE MILTON FRIEDMAN INTRODUCED MARKET CAPITALISM AND LIMITED GOVERNMENT, WHERE HE WON THE NOBEL PRICE IN 1976 FOR ECONOMICS, DEMOCRACY IS A DYING SWAN.

FRIEDMAN IS THE FOUNDER OF MONETARISM AND ADVISER OF RONALD REAGAN'S PRESIDENCY. ALONG WITH MARGARET THATCHER  DEFENDED IT; LESS GOVERNMENT RIGHTS, LESS REGULATION, A MORE ROBUST FREE MARKET ECONOMY, BRITISH AND AMERICANISM WITH A FOREIGN POLICY THAT HAD AS HIS UNOFFICIAL MOTTO, " POWER IS RIGHT".
